Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a teacher and her mom was a stay at home mom. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and frequently performed plays with puppets for the children from her neighborhood. After winning her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the entertainment industry. McCormick got her first job as a leading actress in the year 1964. McCormick was in an advertisement for Mattels the newest doll baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for the show Wind It up and It's Broken in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen from a field of 1200 children who auditioned to play the eldest of three towheaded daughters on the brand new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous success. McCormick admitted the story Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year run of the show. He was just 19. She was 16. She told me that it could have been possible, but we didn't have the proper moment to make the decision.
